Zoo started as a math-rock/post-hardcore band in 2003. In their first full-length Trilogi Peradaban in 2011 they broaden their music into more experimental, especially incorporated the Indonesian tribal traditional music inline with their interest on the civilization theme.
In Samasthamarta, they move it into more conceptual and interdisciplinary works talking about architecture in the world.
This album includes architecture sketch, Zugrafi (typeface of a language they created), lyrics book, and an essay. Rully Shabara (vocalist) is also member of Senyawa, an experimental duo based in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
